Threaded rings, otherwise known as threaded ring gauges, are round metal rings having threads etched on the inside to a minute size. They evaluate if externally threaded components, such as fasteners, are within tolerance. Typically, they are adjustable to fit various parts and fasteners. The adjustment mechanism in such gages comprises locking assembly, sleeve, and adjustment screw. These threaded socket rings also come in different pitch diameters, allowing NDT technicians to determine whether an externally threaded part passes or fails the test.
